4 rounds; Swiss; G/40+10 (Clocks will be set with 40 minutes per player, and a 10 second increment that adds back after each move).

Sections: Open, Reserve (U1301)

US Chess Membership is Required. All US Chess Rules will be Followed.

Players younger than high school age (~14) must be accompanied by an adult.

Entry Fee: Open Section: $25 cash or checks onsite. Reserve Section: $15 cash or checks onsite.

Prizes; 60% of open section entry fees goes to section prize fund (40% goes to the Murray State Chess Club), 25% of reserve section entry fees goes to section prize fund (other 75% goes to Murray State Chess Club)

Open

1st – 50% of prize fund

2nd – 25% of prize fund 

3rd  – 12.5% of prize fund

U1601 – 12.5% of prize fund

Reserve - U1301

1st – Trophy + 65% of Prize Fund

2nd – Trophy + 35% of Prize Fund

U800 – Trophy

Top Grades 9-12 - Medal

Top Grades 6-8 - Medal for Top 2

Top Grades 4-5 - Medal for Top 2

Top Grades K-3 - Medal for Top 2

Schedule:

Onsite Registration and Check-In: 9:00am-9:45am

Round 1: 10:00am

Round 2: 12:30pm

Subsequent rounds 15 minutes after the previous round. 

Players arriving after registration will receive one half-point bye and will be paired in subsequent rounds. Half-point byes may be requested for any round during registration only (limit 1). 

Boards and Pieces will be provided. Please bring clocks.
